Recent Samus piece I did. I was feeling nostalgic about Super Metroid and this is what came out.

 I noticed that I got a piece of eraser on Samus's left calf.

I used my handy dandy #3 Raphael 8404 brush to ink this and then boosted the contrast in photoshop to make the black areas super dark. I used the burn tool for that btw.

I tend to color in channels rather than layers because it keeps file sizes smaller and also makes me have to be decisive with my color choices rather than have everything on its own layer. Here I copied the RGB channel and pasted it into a new channel so that I could make sure the values worked out well.

Again I used my colorholds to help add depth to the drawing....
